today I become the void
These poems keep coming in twos.

for your listening pleasure, a recorded version of my poem(s):
I. pesce uno
When the submarine breaches,
swimming rabbits and bears converging—
I become water in that way we're all soup.
When it’s a black swan event
spotted on the horizon, how many weeks to spare?
We will see, we will move
if we are lucky. and,
then What?
When it’s the drain
waking up, talking to people, going outside, staying inside, no matter
how much you rest. tired,
cut to the lecture <<i need to>>: cut this, do that, clean, work; i need to leave
the house,
I need to devote
When a woman must have her mysteries.
When it's been seven years since we visited this burial site.
When I cry for the warrior who fears not death, not man.
My mother taught me there's no such thing as perfect
happiness. I rejoice regardless.
II. pesce due
apparenza. Crawling King Snake
reminds me–normalcy
The normalcy of madness
what embracing
madness can do.
Am I capable of love-wanting
To stay in your arms forever?
Am I capable beyond yearning?
Literally, moldy bread at the repast
yet, our photographs’ kodachrome vivacity;
How time eats away at us.
Moisturize, listen to “Kinfolk” at the Sesame Jamboree,
pick up olive oil, dog food;
Aloe needs a blanket of gravel
to avoid a common death.
When the little green fairy sprinkled
magic dust over me
moon mars the day I become the void
I never felt uglier. I bled.
Her soothing hands, revisited,
did the trick this time—I feel myself again
a two-tone rogue
lilacs and gold rose crown.
And then that bloodied moon
All this blood dripping, the white house, the dog house,
the ill-timed book tour, the yellow bellies
this ending we share.
Water breaking, by earth by fist by sun
time wrinkles and into the fire we go—
